If you could take the best attributes from any current tour golfers to make up the ideal golfer, what and who would you choose for each part of the game ?


For me it would be..
Charactor and manner of Tom Watson.
Driving of..............Chris Dimarco
long iron play..........Sergio Garcia
Short game..............Big Phil
Putting.................Tiger Woods.

You can only choose one name for each aspect and it must be a different name for each.

Manner:.....Seve, Gent with a never say die attitude outon the course and at home.
Driving:.....Davis Love III (the guy hits it further than anyone on the tour but chooses to hit everything easy and still averages further than Tiger)
Woods:..... miguel Angel Jiminez, there just isnt anyone that can clout a wood any distance with his accuracy.
Long Irons:...... Tiger or Rory McIlroy, can't decide.
Short game:..... Big Phil also.
Putting:..... Corey Pavin, the guy never misses,pity he is the shortest driver on the tour I believe.

After he had been struck by lightning at the 1975 Western Open, Trevino was asked by a reporter what he would do if he were out on the course and it began to storm again. Trevino answered he would take out his 1 iron and point it to the sky, "because not even God can hit the 1 iron."
Jack could hit a 1 iron!

A mixture of old hands and young guns put the pieces together and Boom!!!

We match with Jack & Seve! but I've tried to imagine your combo man playing a par 5. Big Ern strolls to the tee, morphs into the spaniard who smashes the ball 350 yards but it ends up on the adjoining fairway. Jack is forced to hit a towering 4 iron over trees, it's heading straight for the green, but hits a sprinkler head and bounces hard right into heavy rough. Seve plays an impossible chip and the ball rolls 15 inches past. PHIL MISSES THE PUTT!!

Dave I agree statistically Woods isn't great but in a pressure situation no-one in recent years has holed more monster/snaking/clutch putts than Woods. That said I wouldn't fancy him on every 5 footer in the world.
