The Union Flag

Maybe be more outraged at the reports in the same webpage of the number of kids in Dundee & Glasgow in poverty :(

For what it is worth this is a totally false made up story which Rees Mog, IDS and many of the usual suspects fell for, without even a thought to check it's validity.

Hence 'dreadful news from Daily Mail.'

Nothing has changed since 2010.
Nicola had nothing to do with the decision.
Lion Rampart flies on 'Royal' occasions.

Hey Ho.
Normal rules apply for Scottish newspapers.......the headline is a lie.

Seems like LieAm Fox went for it. Ignoring the fact that the Lion Rampart (the Scottish Royal Standard) has been flown on royal birthdays and anniversaries since 2010.

As it happens - in my many visits to Scotland over the last 5-10yrs I have noticed how prominently the Saltire and the Lion Rampant are flown - with the Union Flag being less commonly flown these days - though thinking back I am not sure that the Union Flag was ever in that much evidence other than from a Big Hoose in Govan and in certain related communities in the Central Belt largely.

Interesting to see that BBC Scotland are not running this story......do you think the penny has finally dropped.

I wonder if they will do an 'outrage throughout Scotland at fake news by failing Unionist newspapers' piece. :)

I can remember back to days in the 80s when the Union Flag was flown over the old GPO building in Edinburgh. There was an official list of days/dates that is had to be flown. There was always somebody phoning in to query why it wasn't atop the flagpole when it should have been.

Back in the dim and distant past (well - when we were teens) my brother and I used to hang the saltire and Lion Rampant out of the upstairs bedroom windows whenever Scotland played England at football or rugby. That we lived in a posh Glasgow suburb and there were quite a few English (eek!) about - well that just might have had something to do with it :)

Ho Ho... President Nicola asserting her authority. (just as long as Brussels / London / Whoever, keep funding it all!)

We are a net contributor to the EU (as part of UK) and a net contributor to the UK. So, like this story, your argument would appear to be false.

She is obviously doing such a great job, they should fly a new flag all over Scotland.

"Impressive Sturgeon is superb".

Of course you would just show the initials in large letters on a dark background .....

You may extract the proverbial but many Scots like her - not as many as a few years ago but such is the lot of the leader of any government - but still many. And even some folks who disagree with her policies and her government can agree that she represents the country pretty well. And as an individual she is - IMO - rather more impressive than the current householder in #10 Downing Street, London

That is a truly dreadful post, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Always good fun to post derogatory, insulting and defamatory comments about the First Minister of another country. Just surprised we haven't heard much mention of Janette Tough of late.

I hope I would not, indeed I hope I have not, posted such comments about Theresa May. I would apologise if I have.
