The Tinkerman..

Further tinkering is afoot as well... Nothing major though. I've never liked using a line on the ball as it made be obsess over the line and generally not give pace enough thought. However, during a little bit of putting practice I was doing at lunchtime, I noticed that I very deliberately line my ball up slightly toe-side with the putter. Why am I doing this? I'm not sure. When I consciously lined it back up to the middle it felt weird, but obviously that is where strike is going to be best. So I've just drawn lines on all my balls, simply to make sure the middle of the ball is lined up to the sight line on the putter, rather than lining the ball up to the hole. 😄

21, I notched it down 1 so it wouldn't be too close to my 23° hybrid.

Anywho, I've just ordered the SFT 5 wood instead, which is 19° but can be lofted up to 20. This should be a lot more suited to me in theory so we'll give that a go.
So by lifting it down you’ve opened the face which obviously exacerbates you swing path and face angle give you more of the shot you don’t want.

By lofting up the 5 wood you’ll be closing the face which may well work more in your favour.

Yep. I do wonder how much difference that all makes ('opening' or 'closing' the face by loft adjustment), but it should certainly be a lot easier to square the face on the SFT 5 wood lofted up. (y)

For me it makes a huge difference, if I deloft a driver to open the face I have so much more confidence and aggression in the strike knowing I’m not going to turn it over and whang one miles left. My natural shot is a draw so I need an open clubface at address to give me that and more confidence.

Having my own Tinker with my wedges. I love the feel of them but having ordered my new Driver with a midsize grip as it helped me grip looser. I’ve ordered some Multi compound GP Align grips to put on the wedges.

There being it’ll help me loosen the grip and have softer hands to improve wedge control more. If that works it’s just the irons that will need it but that will need it as well but I might buy new irons yet so jury is out on whether I bother Changing those grips.
