Looks good mate, its always a pleasure to be a member of a nice course, I'm quite lucky as my course is also a joy to play and I never get fed up playing it.

It really is immaculate.

Off every fairway there is a 1st cut, 2nd cut and then deep rough, every green runs at the same speed and each green is also interesting in terms of contours.

Hazzards are well-placed and the bunkers are very well maintained with no shortage of sand, I hate clubs who act as though sand is as expensive as gold-dust and leave horrible bare bunkers.

The whole place is manicured wonderfully with the fairways "striped" and even around the greens is the same.

Each green has a proper area of fringe aswell as opposed to just fairway or deep rough, again something I like.

There is a 10-bay driving range, putting, chipping/pitching areas and also practise bunker facilities.

The clubhouse and car-park are superb and included in the membership is use of the fitness suite upstairs.

Is it the photo or me. The grass looks poorly cut surrounding what appears to be beautiful greens. The fairway looks better cut than around the greens :D so is it a bad hair day or dont the pics do justice?

To be serious, it looks a really nice course ;)

I know MWJ likes it, and molly's a member, but I found it a bit contrived - for example there's one bit where you go round the same dogleg three times in succession. A bit too much crammed in for my liking. Each to their own I guess. Perhaps my view is coloured by the fact it was practically under water when we played it.

Ah, the 5th, 6th, 7th...I know what you mean, but that has never really bothered me. I suppose they could jiggle it about a bit, but the layout works for me - left and right dog-legs, several straighter holes and a couple of longer par 3s as well as the tiddler on the 4th. Not too much walking between greens and tees either...phew!

Anyway, each to there own. Where do you knock about then backwoodsman? and just how ugly are your legs?
