My wife bought me a round on the New Course Sunningdale and I played it today, on a lovely, warm , early autumn day.
The M25 was a real pussycat and we arrived an hour before tee off, bacon sarnies and coffee, a bucket on the range and a practice putt and away!
Playing off 11, I shot 40 on the front 9, a score I would be happy with on my home course, let alone a course I've never seen before. After the 4th I went Par, birdie, par, par, par - wow!
After a sausage sarnie in the halfway house I had a bit of a poor start to he back 9 but salvaged a 44 for an 84 off the white tees and 3 over nett. As the SSS is 72 though, I would be 1 over in a comp. The course was hard as there are a number of blind tee shots and we had no idea of the lines off the tee as the Skycaddie hasnt been mapped for Sunningdale, and the strokesaver book wasn't that informative.
At £160 it isnt cheap, but, it was fabulous and needs to be played once in your life
Sorry to give such a long posting, but I am knackered and very satisfied!
