The Mind is a Wonderful Thing?

Okay, I am gonna go deep here ... Beware!
The mind or my mind in particular is my Achilles heal, it wonders around in circles asking pointless questions and making worthless remarks, drifts from the topic in hand to another sometimes the link is so tenuous it has to figure that out. It flits off and on.
It used to be quite good for golf, it paid little or no attention to others or what was going on but the bare facts ( yardage x wind strength y , select club, aim here , fire , walk on). Now it thinks well the hands should be doing this, the ball struck the face here, why? It now over complicates all things builds up disappointment and creates tension, with expectation.
I am now learning to turn it off, conversation stimulates it, humming or singing or clicking the tongue stops it.
So in a sense it should be used sparingly and in a controlled manner ...

The mind is a wonderful thing and despite people knocking it as not being part of the pre shot routine your mind IS the pre shot routine.

The mind is absolutely fabulous and influences everything from stepping into your pants in the morning to missing that two foot putt on the last.

Aha, gotcha. Sorry, bit slow on the uptake. But yes, a load of fluff.

Maybe that's the reason your playing off of 21!

Have you ever looked into the mental side of the game? What barriers are keeping you at a 21 handicap? Seek, search, explore and maybe you'll be surprised.

The mind is a wonderful thing!
