Had a stapledord today, and was doing average, until the last hole. I hit a "power fade " and it ended up In the rough, about 145 from the green.
Then hit a pure 8 iron, bounced, and hit the flag ! All the people at the club house groaned, and I screamed in anger ;) I then proceeded to miss the birdie putt, but still made the par. Although it was unlucky, it was probably the best thing that's happened to me on the last hole.
What's the best thing that's happened to you on the 18th?

I've had the odd birdie, but one bogie I had comes to mind as being my most interesting. I managed to hit a big hook off the tee, which hit a tree and bounced back into a fairway bunker on the far side of the 17th fairway. From there I hit a hybrid up to the other side of the 17th fairway which ran through into the rough, blocking myself out with trees. I had about 100 yards to go to the green and couldn't go over as the trees were too high. The only route through was about tem foot wide by ten foot high, straight through the trees. I punched a 4 iron that made it onto the green and 2 putted :)

That was a laugh :D

Put it to a couple of inches a couple of times, our last green is a two tier green with the higher portion at the back, not a wide green neither but at around 345 it is only a lob into the green for the longer hitters but is still damn hard to get it close to the flag when it is perched just onto the back shelf. Did it yesterday to steal a half match too in the screaming wind and rain :D

In last years 3 clubs and a putter at ours (Beedles Lake) I birdied the 18th but as the comp is organised by the ladies section it is played off their card so the last becomes a par 5, with a shot it was a 5 pointer :D which gave me a mighty 45pts, not bad with just the 3 clubs i thought, then while sitting glowing with glory in the bar someone came in with 46pts :(

Oh well.

Five putted our last green twice this year.:( Can't think of too many good things although I did get a solid two putt par in the Forum Meet.:)

I made birdie with Hawkeye the other week after chopping the legs off the back nine which is a pretty rare occurence for me on that hole. I'm a bit like Murph and my 8 in the medal on Saturday was still better than it has been in the past

Well, I drove a 400 yarder once (severely downhill, side of mountain really..) only to 3 putt in front of all my mates the day before my wedding.

I short-sided myself in the bunker on the last at Pype Hayes (in the Birmingham Alliance semi-final), only for the capt to come over and say "you need a par, or we're sunk".....not much pressure. Splashed out 5 foot past, drained the putt, only to be 2 points short as a team to get into the final.

Oh, and somewhat famously, I chipped with a 5 wood up the green on the 18th at the Belfry.....not for par, but a decent bogey....

Hole in One!! 185 yards 5 iron, just beaten a former GM editor in the club singles (handicap) knockout. Happy days.

Many many worse stories on that hole too.

Oh, one very annoying thing.

Last hole at Little Aston, on for an = PB. Poor drive, 5 iron short of the MASSIVE cross bunker.

Checked the yardage, stroke saver said 81. Hit an arrow straight SW exactly 81 yards.....how cool!?

(except not so cool, as it was 81 to the front......10% of my ball was on the green, 90% on the fringe....)

Holed out from the fairway bunker for a birdie 3 and a win in an interclub match after duffing my second into the sand. Opposition were impressed but not amused.

The 18th at yours is not one of favourites! Usually end up in the nasty stuff on the right or the trees!!

After playing some awful golf at times on Saturday I had a great 18th hole on the Lakes Course at Greetham Valley. Hit a perfect drive, right of the bunkers to the top of a steep slope that leads down to a stream and lake. Hit the purest 9 iron to 3 feet that took one jump out of its divot and stopped then sunk the birdie putt. Meant alot to me as had not played golf with my dad since I took the game up properly and this showed that I can play at times. Before then he would have had every right to think that I had made up any decent scores and wins that I had told him about.
