Ok ladies and gents I'm contemplating getting new irons next year so will need to start saving. Perusing t'interweb I've seen some fabulous shiny pictures but obviously it's not all about looks. So rather than the usual "which irons would you buy if you were me" post I thought I'd ask if you would be willing to post a picture on this thread of what you consider to be the most amazing set of irons you've used and then in 80 words extol their virtues to the rest of us. As a small incentive I'll put the 'best' one in the forum pages of the magazine.

So come on what shineys should I be drooling over...

Aimed firmly at the better player, a hacker like me should not even be allowed to pick up these irons of beautiful-ness. However, I blagged a “go” with a demo 6 iron and I am now in love. Beautiful looking club, nice thin line at address, really compact head and a lovely weight. While not being overly shiny, I would bite someone’s arm off to be able to regularly get these babies a little muddy! There, 80 words exactly. Now.

PING G15 Irons

Looking down on these clubs make your mouth water. A little bit like when you're just about to be sick. The crude contrast between the shiny steel shafts and matt finish of the head as well as the horrible looking standard grip do nothing to endear prospective buyers. However, as 'super improvement' irons, they certainly do what they're designed to do; get the ball moving upwards and forwards with no deviation. So- if you want EASY irons, buy these (and some headcovers).

 although I doubt thats what he had in mind

True...but it's a bloody good write up!!! ;)

...and if you're trying to get from 25 to 18 they could well be the right clubs for the job, was about 25 h/c when I got them and though I'm pretty sure I'll come down further this season I don't see myself changing yet. Go with your head chap, no point having the nicest looking clubs on the course if you can't hit em straight when you want to!

Besides, am I the only one who thinks they don't look that bad?!

Oh I am. Never mind :o

Although I've never used them, I would go for these babies! (Hoping picture attaches and I don't look like an ass clown).

Hit them once at a fitting and they felt good and long, just couldn't afford. Why do I love/covet these irons so much? Well, they look big and monstrous, mean, anti-conforming and slightly rebellious. I like that people hate them. I think I have a problem.

I own a set of these and even though they are forged I dont use headcovers as to cover them up would be travesty. These are everything you expect from a manufacturer with Wilson's heritage. Small heads, sharp lines, looks to die for and surprisingly easy to use. Fortunately they play as good as they look. Remember it's not the size that matters but what you do with it.

Even if I was a beginner, I wouldn't care how good they were for my game, there is no way on this earth I could use those, they are just too ugly
