Brilliant answer !!

You're not interested in it, therefore there's no interest for anyone else.

Or is it that you only want a mag that suits you sir.

So you can have a mag that is yours and noone else can join in.

It would be fine, but the forum would get a bit boring doncha think.

I'll bet you never wear pink on the course either, do you.

Hi Heidi, the mags are very tempting, every time i see GM etc i am tempted to buy it

I then have a quick flick through it in the shop and its the same old stuff every month

I still like to buy when travelling overseas but apart from that they are too expensive, too much advertising too many course guides and too many holiday articles and the reviews are very poor in my opnion

You do realise this a forum for the magazine that you obviously loathe so much ?

My thoughts too Rich, was slightly confused .....

Interesting opinion Wm, I think you may get one or two that disagree on here :)

My point being the content for most golf mags ( talking in general ) is hard to fill each month with different and interesting articles from my own experience in buying or subscribing in the past

I have stopped buying on a regular basis based on price and repetition which is a shame as i do love to read as much golf related interesting features

Sorry Wolfman but I disagree here. I regularly read Golf International and Golf World and subscribe to GM. These three frequently have fascinating and in depth features with people from all parts of the world of golf. GI in particular has some very good tuition pieces explained in great depth (theres a good one on chipping in the current issue). All of them put a lot of effort into their gear reviews too. GM in particular caters a lot for the average golfer and tries to include readership (and forum members) on kit tests (Brendy etc at Wentworth for the RBZ launch).

Of all the publications its only Todays Golfer I dislike. It clearly has its own audience which isnt necessarily the same as the others and it does tend to position itself more as a younger, hipper publication. It doesn't tend to have too many in depth pieces, their kit reviews are often the same faces featured and being voted best in category and they tend to focus a lot more on show business and celebrity.

Good points and i also dislike Todays Golfer which is very poor, each to his own i guess

I think you are right, there is always going to be repetition in the magazines in the same way there is on here. However I do think GM in particular (and Golf World to be fair) try and look at the same topics from different angles. If anything, its things like the previews of the majors I find too similar. Photo's, scoresaver graphics, history of past winners, preview of potential winners etc. What they do do well but not often enough is a behind the scenes look. I remember there was a feature on the Butler Cabin (might have last years GM) which was great and I'd love to see more of that particularly for the Open
