The future with Red Dwarf

Does it come with a groinal attachment socket?

It was hopefully going to be a discussion about where we get and how we use our energy in the future relating to climate change, air pollution etc.
For example, do people know that at the moment, domestic solar panels/battery systems attract 5% VAT. As from 1st October, that will rise to 20% VAT.
Thank you the EU.
The VAT charged on coal will remain at 5%

So while the rest of civilisation is pushing ahead with cleaner, cheaper and everlasting energy, Britain is going backwards

Did you read about Barclays having to pay back the loans people had borrowed, to install solar panels that had an actual repayment period of 20 years, as opposed to the 10 promised?

I can't see solar being great in the UK, it isn't sunny for long enough.

But as VAT was a taxed which was forced on us by the EU and the rates of VAT the same (relative to product) will it all be changed when we leave the EU

I certainly hope so.
An interesting statistic for you.........
It is predicted that by next year, 100% of electricity in Scotland will be renewable.

Either way I think it is a good idea:)

I don't know how ayone can think it's not.

Fossil fuels are running out and nuclear waste cost a fortune to keep safe, guard and dispose of
Wind and solar are cleaner, will never run out and are cheaper to collect .
Add to that, batteries becoming smaller, lighter and cheaper the ability to store energy is improving year on year.
When you see the new wind turbines being erected, just think.............
One rotation of the blades will produce enough electricity to power an average sized home for a whole day.
One rotation

On a serious note two of my regrets (not done because I was going to move house) were during a house refurbishment 15+ years ago I did not fit a ground source heat system and solar panels. I would have been quids in by now.

I think the idea of using more renewable energy is brilliant.
It's like a new challenge that major companies are investing millions of pounds/dollars in and I can't wait to see where it takes us.
