Having just read the last forum pages of 2009 it made me think about the last few years.

I havn't been around much in the last 8 months due to work but I throughly enjoyed what I have taken part in. Having been a member for a couple of years I remember when the site only had a handfull of regular users. Look what we have now.
Watching the site, the forum, the members and the friendships grow, it makes me feel a little bit proud to be part of it all, is there really a better society to be a member of?

From the first wet and windy meet at Fishwick hall to the grand ryder cup match at Goswick all the meets I have played in have been nothing short of excellent days out with superb company.

So, a quick thankyou to all those I have had the pleasure of playing with, very big thankyou to the staff at GM for putting everything together for us all, especially Mike for his hospitality at Hoylake and best wishes to all for 2010.

Hope to do it all over again in the new year! :D

I'll echo that Tony.
Only managed to play the Ascot meet but I hope to get to a few more next year.
Havr a good one everybody..

Hopefully Ireland will be the location for a future GM Magazine event. Would love the excuse to head over for a few rounds.

Have to echo TonyN's comments. Been to one forum meet, the official Belfry meet and had a 4 ball at my course and enjoyed every one of them.

Here's to more meetings in 2010.

Thank you for everyone that supported me in my stint and are continuing to do so for Colin and especially those I met at variuous times over the year. I look forward to meeting and playing golf with many more of you in 2010

BTW mate I think you need to update your profile following your recent changes

Still a member until 12:00pm tonight!

Played today mate - Greens were wicked and real quick, course was looking OK but very wet on back 9.
Got told off by one old boy for hitting two balls of a tee as I hooked my first into a bunker and fancied another go. There was no one behind me and just them in front so I thought why not - suppose to be a club rule that you can’t do this?
Would be a real pain if I couldn’t do this as I love playing like it on Friday when I usually play on my own and just work on my game.

Looking forward to the 2nd.

Hopefully gents maybe that the magazine might come to ireland one day or even when finances permit some of the irish contingent may get the short flight across for some hospitality across the pond.......

I managed to get out this morning also with my dad .
Bitter cold didnt dampen our spirits i was numb for the firt 6 holes.... I turned with 14 points and came home with 21 which wasn't bad considering i havent hit a ball in 4 weeks......Roll on my new challange.... :D

Tonto,

Keep your eyes open on the forum pages, our last jaunt was organised by madandra at Letham Grange in August. We've also had days at Rosemount, Craigielaw, The Glen and more recently some of the west based guys have played at Dundonald I think. Keep your eyes on the Arrange a Game section to see what happens. I think TheCraw is trying to sort out a Macrahanish jaunt in late March.

I'm sure there will be others arranged during the next season. They are all good days out and you get to put faces to names and just to confuse things you get to know folks by their real names as well ;)

Just a wee diversion folks.... :D

HTL

Do I detect a slight change in the lineup in your bag ?

MX200s gone now and MP58s taken their place ?

Time for some serious golf now ;)

The way he was hitting his MX200's the last time I played with him I got a feeling he would be changing them fairly quickly.
But I expected it to be for fishing rods or a tennis racquet
;)

Yes mate your correct. And I love the new bats. They are seriously good looking and quite forgiving. Im going to be practising much more in 2010 and had a few quid needing to be spent :D

Hywel,

Don't worry about the old guys. They are a bit of a law unto themselves. I usually play two balls when I'm on my own. If the group ahead says anything I usually give them some pony about slowing down so that I don't put them off by feeling rushed!

Nipped up today and they were back on temps but I'm guessing/hoping that was because the greenstaff weren't working today. There's a big competition on Sunday so I reckon they'll cut new holes and get back on proper greens tomorrow. You just need to change your profile now and tell the world you new allegiance. Look forward to seeing how you play with the new irons

I've seen HTL's shiny new sticks and all logos are currently intact. Actually they are sexy looking irons (not sure why he's got them then  :p) and feel great even if he has Project 6.0 shafts in them
