Playing in an organisers day comp at The Drift near Guildford tomorrow.
Been on the website and it looks like a nice parkland course, but there are only a few pics available.

Anyone played it?

Can get a bit wet & boggy in the winter, I played it with Oddsocks & Duncan Mackie a few years back in damp & very windy conditions, can't remember any standout holes, I do remember that Duncan (I think) lost his opening ball off the 1st even though it wasn't a bad drive, it just plugged and disappeared on the fairway :eek:

Going by your last picture Robin, I'm guessing that it makes good sense to grip down on the shaft a little???
:mad::mad::mad:

Twas a it blowy towards the end and look at the bottom of my waterproof bottoms, think I had a baselayer, polo and fully lined jumper on, my hair was all over place :(

Played it a few times, my brother is a member there. I quite like it. the greens can be tough, they're usually quite firm and some quite small, difficult to stay on sometimes, but should be OK now in damper conditions. You can get some interesting bounces on good shots due to tree roots. Can't think of any standout holes in particular but a nice parkland course. Needs a good drive off 10, and need to stay right off 11.

If you're right Fish, and I think I've heard it from others as well, we may not have a happy little Fragger later as I drove through one hell of a lot of standing water on the way to work :(

Actually it brightened up into a glorious afternoon, the odd bit of standing water, but just patches.

I thought it was a nice well presented course, maybe a couple too many sub 300 yard par 4's , but plenty of variety and thought the greens were very good.

Would certainly play it again

I remember being impressed with the clubhouse, they were serving food and the bar was even open at 8am :eek: now that's my kind of clubhouse :cheers:

A mate used to be a member so I've played it a few times. Decent track, nice range hitting off grass and a nice clubhouse. I liked it.

It's the sister club to Badgemore Park where i'm a member. It's a good course which is undergoing some great improvements. I played in the summer and really enjoyed the challenge. Enjoy it!

What you complaining for? You can reach them in 2!:ears:

I can and I did , wasnt commenting from my point of view as they are still a challenge for me, but one bloke in our group was easily able to reach and he would have preferred a slightly tougher challenge.

having said that, quite narrow in places and a place you need to plot your way around

It was me that lost the ball, right hand half of the fairway but still on the short stuff, never to be found again.

Should be ok now, we played it early Feb after a wet Jan I think. Was a nice track and wouldn't mind playing it again.
