The debate - June's Mag

The thing that really sold it to me was the fact that it gives you distances to the front, middle and back which can be a one or even two club difference depending on where the flag is. The yardage markers at most clubs are to the middle and according to the opinions on here can vary in accuracy from course to course.

If you haven't tried one, see if you can borrow one as it really is an eye opener on how far hazards etc are and wakes you up to how far you really do hit the ball

The thing is Homer that the yardage markers are NOT always to the middle of the green.
At Keef's local, the kids move them.
If you hit on to an adjacent fairway, which none of us do :o, where would you get the yardage from.

I have also played with people that pace back and forth to the markers and that takes soooo long.

I know the anti brigade feel that it is ubfair & going back twenty years when my eyes were spot on, I probably could accurately gauge the distance but now, not too sure and on flatish course with no features, I have been 20yds out against the GPS.

I'm happy not to use on my course but away days, it's invaluable
