Hello again all

Just wonder if anybody has any experience of the Crown Golf format i.e. paying a fee to have access to (so it claims) 33 of it's clubs?

Is this a unique format or do other companies operate similar multi-club formats?

On the face of it,seems a good idea and one I hadn't thought of until I surfing the interweb earlier today.

Thanks again,

bill

Hi..Im a member of the Sunbury Club and i have a weekday membership.I have not played at any other clubs yet, but other members have found it a good way of playing other courses at no extra cost

I joined Mill Green for a while - made me an offer I couldn't refuse but then upped fees and unless you can be nomadic especially on weekdays then the additional costs put unnecessary pressure on the bank account.
Mill Green was great however in terms of layout and friendly staff; good golfing advice; good company and aminities.

Do you actually get to play the other courses in the group for free at weekends too? ive had a look at Crowns site and it appears that you get a 20% discount from the full local rate .

Don't know if I see the point in it to be honest.

I dont have the time to play during the week unless it's a quick nine holes after work during the summer, and weekends are always taken up with medals and such at my course, I wouldn't play anywhere else at weekends as I would then lose out on the reason for joining the club.

For away days (which I have just started doing) I want to be able to make them special and travel wherever I want rather than being restricted. Just a thought.

I have to admit that I've made enquiries as the information online is not all it could or should be. They haven't been terribly quick to respond though.

If it were a case of getting access to all these courses it could be an advantage to me as there a few within easy range, plus one that is on my wish list - St Mellion (I just love Cornwall).

Has anyone entered the competition in this month's mag to name the newest Crown Golf course, where you can win a year's free golf on one of their courses? I would have a go but since I'm in Belfast and my nearest course is in Merseyside, I suspect it's not worth the bother!
