Is anyone a member of any of the Golf Courses run by the club company? I have been trying to get a price for membership at the Woodbury course for weeks and keep getting told I have to book an appointment with the membership team? Does this mean each membership is a negotiation with this company?

I can't answer your query but are you sure about Woodbury? East Devon is a much better option if it suits your needs. Played Woodbury a couple of times and found it pretty uninspiring......and very wet!

I'm a member of Chartham park, in West Sussex which is owned by club company. Not bad to cut your teeth but not a golf lovers club. Modern and with swimming gym etc, pretty good price £120 a month no joining fee get the gym included. Good club houses with lots for kids and family. Golf club suffers from poor maintance, winters are generally poor due to drainage issues. Very good for lessons, juniors and the pros are excellent. Sadly some of the membership are very into their own groups and don't welcome outsiders. I'm leaving in april for Tandridge proper golf club much more freiedy and in exceptional condition throughout the year.

You do get reciprocal rights at all the other course in the club company portfolio, except castle royal. It's after 1pm at weekend I believe.

Had some great times at Chartham but the poor greens keeping is not good enough.

I am a member at Wharton Park but they have only been owners for just over a year.

Prospective new members were directed to the membership manager who sorted out the price for them. The fees had not changed from the previous owners so it was always straight forward. If he was out or on holiday , others could give details and forms. It may be different at other clubs if there is a Club Company central membership office. This has certainly not the situation at Wharton Park as one of my friends went up there last week to discuss his membership.

Benton Hall is Essex is also a club company course and to be fair the track is decent but their marketing team are using flawed approaches time and time again. ONce a month for the past 4 years they've called to say that membership is £120 per month or whatever and the gym/swimming facilities are free. Total tosh. When i lived up the road i would have happily joined if the golf was more reasonably priced. There's no way that it's a £120 per month course and there's no way that that £120pm goes back into the golf side. Shame but i guess that's their approach across the whole group ???
