Today I thought I would go and play The Astbury as I saw they had an offer on for £10 green fees until Friday at sun down.
The weather could have been a bit better (very very windy and quite chilly) but what I found was a beautiful course in absolutely superb condition for this time of year. The greens are quick and roll true - start it on line and it will go in.
What surprised me was there were only two groups on the entire course for the 4 hours that we were there.
I've heard people say that the course can lack character, I can see where they are coming from but it has huge potential.
If anyone lives in the West Midlands and has some free time over the next two days, I thoroughly recommend you go and play it for just £10.
