The Apprentice

Sugar must be pulling his hair out. The ones that could actually run a business had crap business plans and visa versa. The interviews make cringeworthy but fun watching!

Bianca did a talk at my University about personal branding about 4 months ago, I'd graduated at the time, but my girlfriend went to it, and apparently she was very good, and a great public speaker. So cheering her on, but have liked Mark from week 1, and said I thought he'd win, so pleased that these two are in the final. Not fussed who wins, but judging by the last episode, Bianca has the business that I think Lord Sugar will be more interested in. It's a new product, has backing from people in the industry, and it's manufacturing based. Irrelevant to how good Mark is at selling, I'm not sure Lord Sugar will want to open yet another digital marketing agency. The final is going to be a good one!

My favourite part of The Apprentice is always the interview week and again it didn't disappoint. Solomon's interview with Claude was absolutely fantastic. I really liked Solomon through the whole thing but it's always been obvious he's incredibly naive and inexperienced. The part where he tried to pitch some ideas off his phone made me laugh like a drain, all I could think of was the scene where Alan Partridge is desperate to pitch ideas and comes up with Monkey Tennis.

I think Bianca has it in the bag for the final now, she's found a market niche with a clear business strategy. I'm amazed Mark's business plan hasn't been questioned more thoroughly - that field of business is incredibly crowded (and full of sharks) and it's very difficult to substantiate the truths from mistruths as all search engine optimisation is based on very woolly and non-quantifiable results.

so....back to Roisin...I would

Crass.

Haven't got into the show too much this year but last night it really came alight! The right two people are in the final, based on their achievements in the show to date and their business ideas. Have always thought Mark would win but now feel like Bianca could do it. More in line with Sugar's previous line of businesses and though Mark is a fantastic talker, think he can push it a little too far. Will be interesting to see who wins!

it's pronounced ASS and she has a beauty.........

P.S did you hear Mark 'talk' at the embarrassing pitch last week and him 'talking' as he sold his service to the Recruitment MD interviewer last night? still think he's a fantastic talker:rofl:

He's undoubtedly good at selling. Done very well throughout the process, and in his career prior to the programme. Daniel on the other hand was great at talking about himself, but not good at anything else.

People who were deselected way outside the top 20 who had viable business plans must be kicking themselves. Roisin was by far the best candidate, and would have made an excellent apprentice in years gone by. Sadly, she no longer fits the current format, which is rubbish.

Mark is a manipulative twit, too far up his own bottom.

The interviews are no longer what they were, and kind of negate the point of any progress in the last 12 weeks of the process. Now it's just about business plans, you might as well do them on day one.

Oh, and CMAC, we agree on something!

something or someone? *wink*

It was a good program last night

Think the best two have gone through

I love the programme and I believe the two that went through have the best business plans,
however they are not the best apprentices in the process.

Great to see Claude tell Solomon to get out the interview.

Best programme of the series imo was the Bath and West show.

Sorry but Roisin was proof of the old adage;

"An accountant may save you money but will never make you any money."

Agree about Mark, though.

As for the emphasis on business plans, what would you expect? In theory at least Lord Sugar is looking to invest £250000 in a business.

But that is why as a programme, it's not as good as the old apprentice. There is no point to any of the preceding weeks. Day one, assess the business plan, day two, choose apprentice winner. Why drag it out over 12 weeks? It makes no odds how well you do the tasks, if your business plan sucks, you shouldn't be there. It's not the same programme any more, and it's the poorer for it.

I don't agree the programme is worse than it was but the demographic has changed.
Instead of him offering a job hes now offering money towards an idea.
