I have had my Tm Burner 3 wood for the last 2 years,it is imo a superb club.
Very easy to hit off the deck, and very long off the tee, long enough for me
to ditch my driver.
I was using the Rory power move, lol and it was flying, however after getting a bad hip
as a result i started to lose distance.
So as a result, and rave reviews i decided to give a couple of Tm 3 woods a bash.
Firstly i purchased the R11 r/f 3 wood.
Very low ball flight, penetrating but no where near as easy to hit as my Burner, and not as long.
Hence a quick sale.
Now i have purchased the RBZ 3 wood r/f.
So off to the course i went, first shot 232 and straight.
Low ball flight again, but not as low as the R11.
Im far from convinced its as long or as consistent as my Burner.
I will give it more time, but im not sure it will replace my Burner.
Has technology really moved on for Tm,im not sure, but with all the hype and rave reviews
perhaps i got caught up in the hype.
Jury still out.
Anyone else trying new gear against there own,and finding out the grass is not always greener.

I have two Benross V6 escapes and no matter how many times i have tried to get these two unfashionable clubs out of my bag, i havent found anything that gets even close to how easy they are to hit and the distance i get.

The rest of my bag is all the fashionable names but these two hang around, for me Benross in terms of hybrids are way up there.
certainly worth a try.

my slazenger 5 wood is my wee baby. i have thought about replacing it many times but theres no way i would do this while it preforms so well on command!

i hit a cobra 3 wood with an extra stiff shaft today and bombed the life out of it ! it went further than my drive. i got the 3wood out of the sweetspot. the driver not so much!

agree about the hybrid i tend to favour mine over the ping in most situations shame the same cant be said for there 3wood that might be making a swift exit soon

I struggle to hit the Ping hybrid, dont know why i got rid of my john letters 3 hybrid, i could hit that quite well

i used to hit it lovely when i got it after trying a mates load then all of a sudden after a couple months i couldnt hit it. Brought the 3 wood and hybrid as a pair to bridge the gap between driver and hyrbrid and seemed to of stop using the ping and favour the benross. tempted to revamp all 3 and get them all matching

I had the Nike VR Tour 15 degree 3 wood and 19 degree 5 wood with stiff voodoo shafts. The 3 wood was super long and very easy to hit off the tee with 240 yds being close to the norm on a good strike. On the fairway you needed to hit the ball cleanly to get any distance however mis hits were punished severely.

The 5 wood unlike the 3 wood seemed to be quite short both off the tee and the fairway so I sold them both and bought a pair of Callaway Diablo Edge Tour Fairways off Online Golf in their sale for £110 for the pair.

Despite their tour label there is nothing that would make me change these clubs as they so easy to hit off the fairway they should be illegal. Distance is also very good and I wouldn't swap these clubs for anything else on the market.

On another note I have an old set of McGreggor steel head woods with steel shafts. The clubs are more than 10 yrs old and are part of an old set I keep at my brother in laws for when I visit my family in the north east. Although not quite as long as the Callaways they are still as good as many of the modern clubs and I dare say with graphite shafts they would give many new clubs a run for their money.

Hit an I15 3 wood on Sunday. Regular flex shaft (whatever the standard version is). Flew lower than my TM Burner but like you not convinced it was any better. I haven't hit the RBZ yet and that will be the real interesting one for me. It's interesting you have stuck with TM only models. Is there a reason (brand loyalty) as there lots of good models out there. The G20 flew higher but their regular was too whippy and their stiff too stiff so I never felt in control.

I have the Callaway Diablo Octane 3 & 5 Fairway Woods.
Off the tee, I hit the 3 wood as far as my driver & I find it quite accurate.
I still struggle a little hitting them off the fairway & tend to use my Hybrids most of the time, but I keep practicing with them & my wood shots from the fairway are getting better, just not consistent enough yet.

The reason Homer is simple,i havnt tried anything that comes close to the old Burners, especially
off the deck.
Until[if ever] i find anything that flies past my 3 wood i will stick with it.
