Well, delighted to say I got round the nine holes yesterday without my lower back going into spasm!! I ache like hell today having done so little exercise for a few month, but the back is fine.
Anyhow, 1st tee and my word was I nervous. Just playing with a mate, not competition or money riding on it and I nailed the drive. A scuffed second shot was followed by a chip onto the green and two putts for a bogie 5.
Drives inthe second and third were impeded due to winter tees one of them going OB
I was taking 6s and 7s on most and was happy with my first round back, until the 185yard uphill par three 9th. I drove the green and ended up 20' from the pin (or was is 30' maybe even 50') New putter in hand and it was working well 20 putts on the previous 8 holes.
I nailed the putt for a birdie two. Never been so happy in my life!!!
I shot 57 (par is 35) and my best score at this course.
Playing again on Saturday and I hope to be in the 40s. My score included three drops and another three where I topped the ball less than 20'
Fingers crossed, I truely beleive there is a half decent player fighting to get out of me!!
