That's my last competition

To be quite honest, if it's a designated competition and the published start time is 10am then you really have no grounds for complaint.

Let's be fair, here. Say, for sake of example, you started an hour early for "domestic reasons" and played for an hour in benign conditions, and then the wind got up around 10am and the rain came down, you would have gained an advantage over the rest of the field by starting early. Do you think that's fair? I don't, to be honest.

You may feel hard done by, but I suspect your club has been running competitions for many, many years. If their arrangements don't suit your circumstances then maybe you should seek out a club where you can be accommodated rather than moaning about the perceived unfairness of it all.

Let me put it this way. Firstly, I have played in the same league competition twice, and teed off early with no problem. Secondly, I play in a pool team, and if the opposition turns up a little early or late, we DON'T claim the points and disqualify them. Why, because we are reasonable adults. Lastly, my sexist comments. I only made them because I am a sexist, and that is my right.

Hmm, so if I'm reading this right, and to help Patrick, the winter league comp was starting at 10am but that was too late for you for personal reasons, you'd managed to tee off earlier before but on the this occicassion you couldn't because the Pro said do, but you paid your entry fee and teed off early anyway!

If that's the case your a numpty and for me the DQ is correct and I wouldn't refund you either.

I've only just noticed your explanation that it must be the pro's "time of the month". Pity. Had I read it before, I would not have dignified the thread with a response.

When looking for a new club to accommodate your need for an early start time, try looking for one which doesn't allow lady members. There may still be one or two stuck in the dark ages which would suit you down to the ground.

So why was it OK the first two times ?

Anyway, last competition, and a good excuse

I'm absolutely staggered that anyone should expect to be able to play a competition in advance of the start time, simply because it doesn't suit them to play later. How arrogant can you get?

I obviously don't know your club set up, but if the competitions are committee run, why should a representative have to be there early simply to suit you? Why should any starter, if you have one, change his plans just for your benefit? In the event that green keeping staff put out competition blocks and move pins on the morning of competitions (ours do), why should they have to change their schedule because of your "domestic circumstances"?

The only mistake I can see isn't what happened today, but was made when you were allowed to start early previously.

Because she found out your were sexist and even worse, supported Spurs, 😂😂😂

I reckon you'll turn into one of the habitual moaners found at most clubs, I'd hoped they were a dying breed, seems I was wrong 🤔

I have this problem at our club truth be told. We have two comps one Saturday and one on Sunday. In a perfect world I would play in both however its not really fair on HID If I do. The Sat comp starts at 11:45 and its a random draw roll up, Im out of the house from 10:30 and not home until 5/6. So I tend to practice early Sat mornings and play in the Sunday comps which start 8:30 am. That way HID is happy and I play twice a week.

The fact is its a 10am comp you rolled the dice and lost your comments just paint the op in a very bad light truth be told.

ah, right, got it now was struggling as its my time of the month

Wow this is a fun one ...

I can see both sides (a bit here)
If rules are rules , the guy should have been DQ,d the first comp he played early in, the pro cant pick & choose when to or not to implement the rules, the pro's reasoning that someone could be left on their own holds no water either , the reason is 10am is the start time not before it ..

Now down to the OP , if I knew the comp started at 10 & I couldn't wait til then , then I wouldn't be playing , I think you have it a bit backways re the fee , the pro told u , u couldn't start early in the comp , you payed the fee , still despite being told otherwise u started early so DQ was always on the cards

2 wrongs don't make aright , that's why the rules are there in the first place , for equity sake , rules are not meant to be fair but are meant to be fair in equity

As for the comment in the middle ? out of order & appropriately dealt with .. learn from both experiences & you will be better from the experience
