My neighbour is a tecnhical design engineer thingamejob. In his words, he's been approached by a known golf brand, and been asked to design and develop an idea they have, but have no product in hand.

Basically he's got to come up with a few ideas, take them back to the company who wittle it down eventually to one product to go into manufacture.

He told me a few weeks ago that he was making a golf related product, but couldn't tell me what it was at all. As he's been made to sign a secrecy document.

But !! Now as part of the development process, he's now allowed to get an outside view from someone with no technical background (me) to have a look at the product and give my opinion on practicality etc.

i wonder what it could be ? I've asked him if it's for training, on the course, for a trolley, a cart, a new type of tee etc etc, but he's not said 'owt.

Hopefully it won't be an elaborate plan to get me round his house so he can slip me some rohypnol and abuse me.

I'll let you know anything if I can.

id be well excited if i were you! maybe you'll get a free (hopefully expensive) product/gadget if the brand start producing them!
Keep us updated!

The golf world is awash with gadgets; from "space age" materials in the clubs, GPS technology, to bits of plastic you put on your wrist.

I`m out!

I'll have to keep it very brief so as not to offend anyone who could read this.

Basically, it's advice to prevent you losing any of your clubs while out on the course.

It looks and works great, I'll let you know when they start to come on the market.

To be honest i'm not surethatd sell well unless it was a fiver lol- how often do you lose a club out on the course?

I did it once. When out on the course on my own, I took 2 shots on a par 3 with an 8 iron, then 2 with a 7 iron, I popped the 7 iron in the bag but not the 8.

Luckily, someone handed it in the next day.

Hmmm, I wonder what this could be?

Some kind of infra-red thing that sticks onto a club and if it cannot sense anything withing a few feet of it a voice is activated to immatate the club crying perhaps?

Oh, oh!

Did we not do this last year?

Someone came on here spamming us with a website that was indevelopement, to sell a flag idea so that you don't leave any clubs behind!

If I remember corrrectly. He was trying to get our opinion on the website and the product. Which, of course he did!!

As with anything in todays times. Good luck to him. But I don't think it's for me.

Though of course it's one of those 'I'll never need it, 'cause it'll never happen to me' ideas.

So it's fingers crossed for me then!!

Recently read of a golf bag which emits a "whistle" if you neglect to replace clubs you take out of the bag.

Cant remember where i read it or the makers of the bag.

Hmmm, okay lets see, hitech but easy way, stick some RFID tags on each of your clubs then have device on your bag which alerts you if one falls out of range.
