I must admit I am very impressed how the German media, politicians (with the exception of the right wing AfD, which jumped to wrong conclusions right away) and police speakers handled the situation. They were all very careful to keep the facts straight and not publish any wild speculations.

Unlike the OP.

Well I think everyone jumped to the wrong assumptions with this attack from the off, which is understandable to a point, but it doesn't matter who is/was responsible though, it's still terrorism due the the nature of the public attack.

Just because of what he was wearing and what he was shouting out didn't make him a right wing extremist, no different to if he came from the middle east or was a muslim or held dual nationality makes him an IS supporter, early reports were so wide of the mark it was embarrassing and could have contributed to more panic than needed, especially believing that there were actually 3 gunmen reported and that at least 2 were on the loose when 1 of them was believed to have taken his life shooting himself with his pistol, not the actions of an IS terrorist who like to go down fighting and taking people with them!

This to me, even though it's still unfolding, was a total lone wolf 18 year old individual who has felt disenfranchised with the country, I think it's too easy to apportion blame and hand trophy's to specific groups, sometimes insecure individuals (loners) will unfortunately react in a way that begs belief and commit this act of terror, the only surprise is that he took his own life in a side street away from everyone and didn't go out fighting in a death by suicide scenario.

Thing is though, this individual who felt disenchanted with his country was actually of Iranian/ German dual nationality. If he did not like life in Germany, he could of gone back to Iran. He was An 18 yr old who managed to get hold of a gun. How's that supposed to happen. I am 53 and would struggle to get hold of a catapult. So it begs the question of who was he mixing with to get hold of a gun. To be 18 yr old and be disenchanted with Germany, he is still playing with Lego at that age. Not apportioning blame but an 18 upset with life, show me one that's not.
whatever his motives, he is a terrorist

I have read reports that have not fully been confirmed yet but it was reported that he was born in Germany, so, just because he has dual nationality doesn't mean he came from Iran to Germany, it could be because of his parents! Secondly, I have stated clearly irrelevant of it being a person or on behalf of any organisation, it's still terrorism and as such he's a terrorist, whether a loner or not!

Guns in countries like Germany with many borders can be found quite easily, if you've got the money they can bought here quite easily too, cheaper than a iPhone!

Totally agree with you Fish and not having a pop at owt you said, but some of these terrorists motives/ beliefs/ certainly don't warrant what they are doing. Most of the terrorists of late have been of dual nationality whether the attacks are in Germany France or wherever. They are making attacks in countrys where there is social integration and understanding. Unlike other country's where they and there parents, family and friends have come from that are torn apart by war, famine and religious fanaticism.
Thats the bit I don't understand.
