Guys
I'm planning a trip to Tenerife in Spring with wife. Hoping to get 3 or 4 rounds in. Don't currently have a handicap, but estimate about 30.
Is it better to wait till arrival before booking tee times, or is there some kind of clearing house to use?
Would be booking as a single. Does that mean I'll be allocated a group?
Cheers ?

I don’t know about Tenerife, but some places golf is very expensive when booked through the club, when on holiday.
Might be best to contact a booking agent/travel company for cheaper options.

If you book as a single, you could well get allocated to a group, depending on how busy the course is. That’s what happened to me at Costa Adeje in Tenerife … I was teamed up with three Germans even older than me (was 68 at the time). They also made me look good ?. However, they were good fun and we shared a few sociable beers after the round. I can recommend Costa Adeje as a course too … they have played the Canaries Open there.

Thanks guys.
I'm probably looking at using one of the local agents for booking tee times.
I realise I'll probably get lumped into a 4ball.
If those guys are painfully slow, would I be ok forging on ahead on my own? ?

There's no 'forging on ahead' on holiday golf courses, just a 1 ball stuck behind a series of 4 balls with a 3 ball behind him.
