Temple Golf Club

I've played it once before. It was a good course but not really my cup of tea, very hilly and a few blind shots.
There is a strange par 3 where you cant see the green from the tee because its in a huge hole that was made by a bomb in WW2 apparently??
I would describe the course as "quirky" and I felt you would have to play it a fair few times to get used to all the differences in elevation and the little tricks on the eye.
I wouldnt rush vack there but quite a few in the society I played in loved it so I guess its down to taste.
I played crao on the day so it probably influences my views! :)

Played it once about 10 years ago and would echo ademac's views. For a society day it'll be fun. I think Michael Parkinson used to be a member there, maybe still is.

Similar to what I would say - conditioning is also not a strong point as they are very "eco" in their practises. I hated the hole before the funny crater par 3 hole - it is along the bottom of the course - not sure if it is a 4 or 5, but massive right to left slope on the fairway - you hit up the right edge and still end up on the left light rough if there is any degree of run - although, maybe not at the moment with the massive amount of rain we have had!

watch out of you go too far up one of them sidehill lies - the layby on the A404 above it is a famous dogging location ...apparently ...(or at least according to the Maidenhead local newspaper a few weeks back )

Played it a few years ago. The first green is about 1/2 a mile below the tee box!! Stunning views.
Didn't like the sloping lies on most holes. Quite a few short par 4's as well.
Henry Cotton was the pro there.

Nice clubhouse and a few famous members there. Nice course.

Well it really is a nice little course, a tad hilly, but then again most of the uphill walks were short and easy, Not like Hanbury!!

most of the holes are 370-400 yard par 4 with a couple of 5s and 4 3's, couple of which are nearer 250.

Small but very true greens, nice clubhouse and some fantastic views over the Thames towards Marlow.

Just dont play it in torrential rain, made a complete mockery of the back 9 after a solid if unspectacular front.

lakes on greens dont help with the putting stats

And the 10th par3 where the green is in a massive hole and totally invisable from the tee, is one I will remember.

Im just going to wring myself out now

Fragger
