At my club there is a 7 minute time space between tee times, so we have a lot of traffic on the golf course, wich makes playing golf not so fun.

I really want to enjoy my golf, but i don't won't to complain. My parents suggest asking the pro if he could do something to change it.

What doesn't help, is that the people at my club in general are totally ignorant of quick smooth play. Is this fixable at all???

I think 7 minutes is ok for pro golf where players can actually hit the flipping ball straight (ish). How often are the times behind because of poor play on the first hole. I think 7 minutes isn't long enough for club golfers.I don't think I've tee'd off at the correct time all season.

We have ten minute gaps on competition days as we start with a par 3 and so it gives everyone time to get to the green and putt out without rushing. It use to be a call up hole but it really didn't make any difference. Outside of competitions you just wait on the tee (for ages if the ladies are playing  :D ;))

Ours are 8 mins but we only play 3 balls for the singles comps.

It's not too bad most of the time, if you're out at the tail end of the comp you might get a 5-10 mins delay at most.

Although during the club champs last month I was in one of the last groups on the first day and we were 30 mins late.

A lot of "better" i.e. more expensive clubs do 10 minute intervals, such as the Old Course, which makes for more enjoyable rounds in my opinion. Less revenue if there are visitors but happier golfers.

Years ago when I used to play a lot more regularly, our course was very busy at the weekend and we used to go out in fours at five minute intervals. It seemed to work until you reached the first par 3 (5th), when you were met with several groups of players waiting to tee off. (we all just accepted this as the norm and put up with it).Sometimes the starter used to pick a group off the ballot sheet at random and just check how long it took them to complete their round, and if they were over a certain time, they were removed from the list for a tee time the next week

Its 13 mins at our club and they done that by sending out a 1 2 3 4 ball and in each of them different handicaps and worked out the average time and it was 13.

Blimey....I don't even understand that

10 min intervals at my place. Goes okay till the par 3 sixth where a bottleneck usually occurs but after that things get back on track.
Sixth tough par 3 180 off whites---water all along the right and another lake on the left to catch the hooked bail out shot--it always one of the toughest 3 holes every week.

Unless its a medal in bad conditions we tend to move pretty well all the way round. I think letting the green clear (ten minute gap) on the par 3 first helps especially as the second is a par 5 so the group in front have normally played their second by the time we are ready to tee off.

common sense says that you need different intervals depending on the group size, eg 5 min between 2-balls, 7 between 3 and 10 between 4-balls

as for finding the solution to quick smooth play, if you can do that you'll make a fortune.
