A "computer" machine that reads clubhead speed, launch angle, face angle, path, all that jazz.

Very useful (almost essential) for custom fitting fitting and particularly good for giving lessons to top-notch players who are looking for an edge. Most pros can read almost everything just by looking, but the odd degree here or there could sharpen up anyones game.

Interesting to note that the other day, I witnessed a "custom fitting" and there wasn't any technology in sight. OK, so most of the time, it's obvious which shaft is going to be the best choice, but what about those of us on the cusp of reg/stiff.....I'd like to meet a pro that can spot the difference between a 94 mph driver and a 100 mph driver!!!

Do you have a consistent fault (pull, slice, hook?)
t.b.h. £100 says your pro could spot at least 2 dozen things to improve before needing to study the data from a machine.
BUT....and this is relevent, if you want to buy a new club and consider anything offset, draw bias, or with a certain shaft, the results can be dramatic.
Let's say you try two different hybrids and with one you get a few mph more clubhead speed, get the face a degree squarer and get a different launch....then...WOW...that would be some investment to make to your game.

Realgolfer has it absolutely right.

My coach does not use video and he is on the GM panel,is flown all over the World by the EGU and taught many pro's at the PGA.

However when I was fitted for my clubs they used a launch monitor and high speed camera, the results were astonishing!
