.... And I'm 3/4 chilled and 2/3 pissed! Ok not quite pissed but instead of worrying about this game, hitting the range and wrecking my confidence, I've simply lost myself in the garden building a lean-to in the sun shine with a few drinks.

Wish me luck fella's this is my first board major and it's there for the taking :) :)

Unlike the semi finals in not here on ice trying to get my back in so there's hope :D

Cheers Jason will do.

Homer I always have trouble sleeping before a knock out, it's a new tactic I'm trying. But yes I agree playing the winter finals in June on a baked course seems a bit weird. Just hope I don't melt!

Good luck Oddsocks , just let your game flow and dont tense up overthinking things. He'll be nervous so stand tall on the tee and own it

Good luck mate.

I played our final of the foursomes this time last year, and it was cold and wet, and the worst day we played any of our matches on.

That's the plan dodger, in all fairness it should be a good game he has a sharp short game but only hits a 5I off the tee about 200yrds, my short game is getting better but my long game should win me the match

remember, anything can happen in Matchplay Oddsocks and you have no control over your opponents game, expect them to hole everything.
In the first round of our matchplay knockout this week I was 5up after nine. The 20 handicapper then had 5 pars in a row, I sank a 20 ft putt to half one of them and didn't manage to win until he put his ball in to the trees twice on the 18th.
:D

Sorry, must have mis-read the title. It says 'winter singles matchplay final' and there was me thinking this was JUne ;)

How on earth has the match convenor let this one go on so long.It should have been done & dusted by the end of April at the very latest.

Jings... we've not even had snow here since early March.... ;)

Funny, I was thinking the same. Winter match play? My advice is wrap up warm, don't forget the woolly hat, take a flask with something hot and maybe try a pair of winter gloves. Also watch out for "stingers" if you hit one thin.
:D :D :D

All the best mate. You're in the final, that's great. Enjoy it whatever the result. But it's more enjoyable to win. Go for it!

This is the situation at the course i've just left. I got to the winter pairs semifinal stage , it was finally put on the board at the beginning of May. We had to play the semi as soon as we were able. Between the 4 of us we couldnt get a date to play before the the 3rd week of June

I wasnt going to stay a member just to play a winter semi so I left and joined another club.

ps we were still supposed to play off the winter tees too
