Summer concerts/festivals

The girl who got to dance with him was Courteney Cox but I'd have swapped places in a heartbeat!!

You didn't see my little play on words did you. :) Read it again.

We have paid for GA also, one of the lads tires easily now, I presume that includes the seats in the lower tier, in case he wants to sit down for a bit.

I missed that!!

I have heard at The Etihad it includes the lower tier but have never known that to be the case before. David will be delighted as he'll take a seat and meet me afterwards!

Normally do reading fest but not this year as on bloomin honeymoon...
But going to the Eden sessions as Eden is only up road from me. Nice bit of plan b and blink 182. Seen blink couple years back at reading and they are quality live.

Mr t take baby wipes an toilet roll!!! The baby wipes are for "showering"
And if your stomach isn't very strong I suggest some Vicks vapour rub. You'll understand once you been why I said that haha

Haha will do, are there any form of washing facilities there?

I hope so for two of the lads, one has a bad back, the other will either be a lad who had the snip yesterday (yes, of Father's day) if he recovers in time or one of my other mates who has to have kidney dialysis.

God, were all getting old!!

Not for me, I'll be in the mosh pit, I may bump into you (literally)- keep your hands to yourself though!! :)

A personal highlight would be Thunder road, I only discovered it about 2 years ago.

You'd need to be there at dawn or the night before to get in the pit!

Ahhh Thunder Road. Usually if pushed I'd say that's my favourite but it can change depending on my mood. For me Bruce is a writing genius and "Killing Me Softly" should have been written about him.

Don't worry if it rains as the best shows are when it rains and the atmosphere and Bruce even more alive than usual.

Good luck! Reminds me of when I saw him at Crystal Palace and we'd been stood in line in the baking hot sun since daybreak only for some guy and his g/f to figure they could just waltz to the front and ignore the "rules". It ended in tears (hers) and he finally gave up and headed up the road again! I'll never forget that day as I was about number 80 odd in the queue and it was when I was a serious runner. When the gates open I ran as fast as my little sunburnt legs would carry me. It was like a scene from a movie and in memory still feels in slo mo as the unfit and unprepared were dropping like flies and I could see the mike I wanted to get in front of. There was black tarpaulin on the ground and underneath went from track to grass to sandpit with no warning so more fell by the wayside but I stayed upright and in a sweaty heap I made it to the front...

Then realised I'd miscounted the mikes and was in front of Little Steven and not Bruce

No, I wont go right to the very front, just within 30 yards of the stage will do me.

My daughter was 15 yesterday , shes going to leeds festival (whenever its on)
Cant say i'm overly happy about it.

That is exactly what my dad said haha, but they trust me enough to not do anything stupid and I assume she's going with a group of friends so I'm sure she'll be fine

Only time I went to a festival is was a mud fest, and I only went for the day. I am not even a fan a big venue gigs although I have been to a few. Much prefer a gig at a small venue or pub.

I am just back from the mudfest that was Download 2012. Even though I am knocking on the door of being 40 I am still young enough to do the full 5 days in a tent and get stuck in with the best of them.

Highlights for me, The Prodigy on Friday night were immense, just a masive wave of angry energy that you cannot help but get caught up in. Trivium on Saturday were great as were Tenanacious D and for a laugh you cannot beat Steel Panther (look on YouTube for their song about Tiger Woods). Sunday was all about listening to bands from my childhood, Anthrax, Megadeath, Soundgarden and Black Sabbath. OK Ozzy cannot get around the stage much but he can still pump up a crowd.

Biggest disappointment was Metallica. I know people on the web are raving about their show but I found the sound quality poor and really felt that they were dialing in the preformance. Got better at the end but not up to the standard of when I last saw them on the Damaged Justice tour.

Love a good festival. Best advice are wet wipes, loo roll without the paper tube in as is easier to carry, do your best to keep a few sets of dry clothes if it lashes it down, get a locker to keep valuables in and get drunk but not so blatted that you cannot enjoy the bands you went to see.

Bit of a fan myself, as you can see from my avatar. Only seen them once though in Manchester (supported by the ex. lead singer from Judas Priest - Halford???). One of my top 5 bands, along with the Cult,Simple Minds, Madness and the other one always changes.

I still maintain that Maiden at Donnington 1988 was the best concert I have been to.

A few of the lads went to some of the "monsters of rock" festivals back in the late eighties. I was only dipping my toe into to rock then, wish I would have went to one looking back, although all of my money went on footy in them days.

I saw extreme, the electric boys and the black crowes around the time in small venues.

My favourite concert was seeing the eagles in Manchester. After that anything from madness (when they first re-formed), the specials (about 2 years ago), The Who about 5 years ago and Roachford about 20 years ago. Haven't managed to do a U2 one yet.
