At short notice I find myself in Dundee tomorrow and likely to finish work-wise at around 12.30 in the city centre. So filling the afternoon with some golf seems the decent thing to do. Given the darkness arrives at 4 that doesn't leave much time so, anyone have any suggestions for where I can best find a tee time at such short notice and get most of the 18 done given how late I'd be starting?

Monifieth isn't far, there';s someone on here that's a member plus they have a shorter course that looked OK as well

I'm sure that GolfNow sent me an email with offers for Downfield today, I've heard some great things about it and also some saying its overhyped, I'm sure it was only about £20 so worth a try I think

Just adding that it's on teeofftimes for £20 tomorrow as well

Thanks all,
Yep, Scotscraig and Monifieth are good shouts and from their online tee booking systems both seem to have slots available so I'll probably punt for one of them. Never played either so both would be good to visit. Monifieth shorter course is a good option if things overrun at work.

just saw this ,you could have played with me at Scotscraig Ian sorry, id give Downfield a miss as its a bog just now and has been closed for a few days, Scotscraig is playing well just , we've one temp green as the 4th is being remodelled, more than welcome to a game anytime.

Thanks Steve I plumped for a soggy 18 at Monifieth where I had never played before. Not the best conditions to judge a course on, but some nice par 3s for sure and one or two other holes which I sensed were good but to drookit to tell!

Maybe some other time at Scotscraig will work out.
Cheers Ian

did you play the main course or the other one?

The main course - I was the only one daft enough to be out so sprinted round in 3 hours

And it was wet you say?

I've played there a few times as I know someone who was a member. Always found it pretty dry Underfoot as i don't think I've played it in nice weather.

Greens were good, same grass on them as Nairn so had the pace straight away which is always a positive.

Underfoot it was ok, it was only me and the heavy rain that was sodden! The greens coped pretty well but were starting to get a little affected towards the end.
