Played in a medal on Saturday. It was the competition I won in 1997 and my only win at my club (Board job as well!) so I was determined to do well.

Had an absolute shocker including an 8 and a 9 on 2 par 4's and finished with 95 off a handicap of 13.

On 17 and 18 I couldn't wait to get off the course and was considering taking up Crown Green Bowls instead.

I played last night with a friend and went off the white tees and it was like night and day. 5 over gross after 13 which included a treble bogey on the par 3 7th (tee shot in the trees - dont ask).

My driving was perfect and I was drawing the ball off the tee exactly where I wanted it with what my partner described as an effortless swing. I also didn't miss a putt in vast contrast to Saturday.

It was one of those evenings where you just want to carry on playing until its too dark to see.

Not playing in the competition this Saturday but can't wait to get back out there again.

What's the betting I'm utter pants in the next comp again?

Funny old game.

Davey, it may be a good idea to edit this title before the Mods read it. You aren't allowed to put swear words with a few letters changed as you have done

It is the nature of the beast. How often have we had a good round and rocked up the next day determined today "is the day" and played like a beginner. It happens and expectations has a lot to do with it
