Evening all..
My natural shape is a slight draw which I'm happy with.
On occasions I'll play for a slight fade into the odd green at our place.
Depending on where the pins are. Just lately Even when I hit what I feel is good shot, with about a five
yard fade and more height than usual the ball runs through the back.
Tonight I hit two 6 irons and a 7 like this and they all pitched middle of the green but ran through.
This is bugging me as I'm going for a more controlled shot.

My natural shape is a low draw and I know at impact I have my hands quite a bit ahead of the ball with the shaft
angle quite steep.
Could this have anything to with it when a play a fade?

What can I do differently at set up to land the ball more softly?

Cheers in advance,
Jim

Just a thought , surely draws & fades are coming in with side spin on the ball , hence shooting off the green .. straight shot with bit of backspin or check may help.....

This is from me who can hit high & low draws & fades & straight shots ... just wish i knew what i was going to play & when :D:D

Jim as you know its a totally different game in the summer.
Take all considerations into account.
Are the greens running towards the back.
Is this green harder than others on the course.
Is the wind behind.
What club am i trying to hit the green with.
You can be a little more aggressive if the wind is in your face.
A long iron will run a lot more than a wedge.
If you are using a wedge, try putting it a little forward in you stance and use your fade,a
draw will definately have top spin on it,producing more roll.
Hope at least one of these points help.
