Sticky labels

I remember reading on here some months ago, but unfortunately have not found anything on the search facility, regarding getting the sticky labels off the shafts of new (or indeed old) shafts?

Anybody got any good ideas?

Soapy water just removes the top layer, leaving a sticky residue.

I'll be grateful for any ideas, thanks.

White spirit will do the trick nicely.

Cheers gents, appreciate the advice.

After the way both clubs performed yesterday, I think it might be bad luck to remove them....so i'll leave it for another round.

At least when they have a bad day, I can blame the resistence through the air for a mis-timed swing.

Baby wipes - they seem to be able to remove just about anything from anything.

I'd forgotten about them (being an older dad)....they are amazing at cleaning stuff, except not recommended for glasses.
