Hi all,
I had been up with the baby all night to give my ever more mad wife a break. I was so board with baby and wife that I left for golf 90 min early. When I landed at the club I was shocked(duno why) at the hooley that was blowing. I tried everything to get the ball going on the range but just could not work out if it was me the wind or both. My pro came past and asked how I was getting on, I moaned a bit and he gave me some calm words. Something along the lines of stay cool, keep the ball in play, hold the ball into the wind if you have to and have fun.
As I walked to the tee I knew today was going to be all about chipping and putting. I stayed patient and kept moving the ball forward until the 8th, landed the ball on this par 3 green, I don't remember the last time I did. Went for the 25foot put and it snaked it's way into the hole... Boom!
Onto 9 and the wind very much with me on this 488 par 5. Crushed my drive leaving me an 8 iron to the green, I blocked the 8 a little and the ball landed on a waist high hillock to the left of the green. At this point I was already mentally writing this post. Chipped the ball up into the wind and landed it 3 foot from the hole.
Back to back birdies, a first for me and one for the memory banks. I am not even sure I have had 2 in a round before.
Anyhow that was as good as it got as now I thought I was god and had a stinking back 9 as a result.
A nice little buzz though and some great shots played in the tough conditions. My driver was on form all day bar 18 and my putter was warm.
