'Stack and Til......... Woods'

I think Tiger would be best suited to the 'Happy Gilmour' - it works for me!! :D :D

Bob,

I admire your dignified silence and agree with your original post.

The only time I could see a benefit in keeping weight on the left side of the body is when chipping or pitching from a short distance - under 40 yards.

In a wider sense though, I am sure we all know that there isn't a magic bullet when it comes to golf. Talent and practice are what makes a good golfer in my view and if you have some of the former and work at the latter, you will be a good player in time.

There is too much emphasis on how to actually do everything in modern golf. I suppose the magazines need to keep coming up with a fresh angle to write about but I think it confuses the issue. Apparently we all need pre-shot routines, precise yardages, swing key thoughts, weighted drivers, £300 putters....

It is mostly bo***cks. Talent and practice is what it is about. Hit the ball, find it and hit it again until it's in the hole. Practice what you are rubbish at and over time, you will get the ball down for fewer shots. A lesson a year to check your fundamentals with a very good teacher is also a good idea.

Golf is a very, very simple game and this FACT is conveniently obfuscated by the leviathan that is the multi-billion dollar golf industry marketing machine, whose nonsense millions of golfers lap up like good little consumers!

Ask Phil Mickelson he may have another time when it is good to get your weight on your left side .

Keep doing the research and being the poster boy for it by all means but S&T is just another way to skin the same cat.

Just my opinion of course.
