Southport golf,hotels with a pool?

Down there in a couple of weeks to play Birkdale and aint sorted a hotel yet and the other half may come for a jolly so she would prefer a hotel with leisure facilities so she can have a dook while I play....no doubt as well as the pool she'll want a hotel near the bloody shops too.

Any recommendations??

I'm staying at Formby Hall for the Hillside meet Alan.
HID can do the spa thing while I'm at the gowf.

there are 3 hotels on lord st ( main shopping area ) and a new one on the promenade depends on your budget as there is a 5 star one set back off the main drag,formby hall is good and only a 25 min drive from hillside.

Formby hall, as already mentioned.

Otherwise stay in Liverpool, only 20 miles away from Birkdale.
Obviously loads of hotels to pick from.

Liverpool one is a billion pounds worth shopping area in the city centre, could harm the credit card balance if HID is let loose though, without parental guidance.
