As the title says.
I'm off to the Olympic Stadium for tonight's session.
Getting there around 1pm so we can watch Andy Murray on the huge screen, Ben Ainslee too!
Will wander around for a while before getting settled for the evening. The Olympic Stadium programme starts at 7.00pm.
I'll see Greg Rutherford get his gold medal & hopefully see Christine Ohuruogu get another Team GB gold in the 400m.
We've got two girls in the 400m hurdles heats, Yamile Aldama in the Triple Jump final, three guys in the 100m semi-finals, Alexander Smith in the Hammer final, two guys in the 1500m semi-finals, three guys in the 400m semi-finals, and then.........................the men's 100m final..................the noise..............the atmosphere........can't bloody wait.
Sorry, I just have to tell people......................I'm just sooooo excited :whoo:.

it does look fantastic, hard to beat yesterdays 'golden hour' in the stadium but I think the crowd are whipped into a frenzy now so hopefully another great night ahead. Hope you have your GM brolly so we see you as there will be showers tonight according to the beeb. Take pics and share tomorrow.
all the best

Have fun mate, I went to the Olympic park on tuesday to watch some hockey and I can honestly say it is nothing short of wonderful, its also superbly run, the volunteers are doing a fantastic job and make getting in and around very smooth indeed

Golf umbrellas are not allowed as they are deemed too large, which I guess is fair enough. Oh, and there was one shower around 1.30pm for about 10 minutes, the rest of the day was warm & sunny.......except the late evening which was just warm.

Both him and Mo Farah are receiving their medals today. Plus Ben Ainslie has just won his Gold as I type. :D

And we watched Andy Murray absolutely waste Roger Federer from the grass in front of the big screen. The atmosphere was fantastic & the noise was mahoosive.

They call themselves Games Makers...................and they are truly brilliant, very helpful & ALWAYS smiling & happy.

Enjoy. Think you'll have a great night. Got a feeling we might sneak a few medals (Christine Oggywhatever has a good chance)

She got a silver tonight. Coming off the last bend I would have bet a lot of money she would get 5th or 6th place.................another 10 metres and she would have won! She ran an awesome last 70 metres.

The whole day was amazing , but inside the Olympic Stadium...................my God..........the atmosphere was one thing, but the noise........my God the noise was staggering. When Usain Bolt set a new Olympic record I thought the world had exploded, the noise was frightening. Every GB athlete was treated like they were a God, they must have felt really special.
This must be the best games of all time................bar none!
I even got into the high jump qualifying round, particularly our boy and a guy from Italy called Gianmarco Tamberi who certainly knew how to milk an audience, every time he moved 20,000 people would cheer!
A magic day, one I'll never forget.
May post a few pics soon too.

I didnt know you could just turn up and enter a competition! Is it like a stableford where you put you name down and have a go?
How high did you jump? Gross height please. None of this net stuff!:mmm:

Gross height was 0.36m, which after taking my h'cap into account, netted out at 2.16m, just short of the qualifying height..................so I came home.
Should have entered the 100m instead, it was won by a guy named Bolt & he couldn't even break the 9.0sec barrier.........................bloody lightweight.

My dad went on Wednesday to see womens basketball (only tickets he got in the ballot), he said it was an awesome experience, just being on the Olympic park and savouring the atmosphere. He had nothing but praise for the organisation of the whole thing. Every time a medal was won elsewhere it was filtered across and the buzz was everywhere.

Gutted I didnt apply for any now :(

What about the Paralympics, may get some tickets myself.
They reckon there will be huge crowds for that too, as a by-product of the success of London 2012.

We were watching the high jump last night. My wife didn't think it was anything special until I told her the height they were attempting was a few cm's short of our ceiling!

We went on Friday and agree with all that has been said, the atmosphere in the Olympic Stadium was fantastic and everyone was friendly and helpful. God bless our troops who were first class on the gates.
