It was briefly mentioned in the Mega Meet thread about going abroad somewhere maybe next year as a forum meet.

I'm sure a lot feel the same as me, in that I've been really hacked off with the wet, cold and snow this winter, and I've often daydreamed about playing somewhere with nicer weather.

My trouble is that is all I do - daydream. I need to get my finger out and actually do something about it, so thinking about being fed up with it all next winter I thought I'd try and start something on here, then I might actually go somewhere!

Obviously, with a meet abroad, drop outs would be a nightmare, so only post if you'd be serious about it.
If there are enough people genuinely interested in doing this as a group, I would be happy to either do most of the arranging or help out with it as much as required.

I was thinking probably February-ish next year. The golf here isn't too bad in November, December has Christmas to contend with and maybe January a bit too soon after Christmas.

Not particularly bothered where, as long as it's warmish and not rainy season, with quality courses (well known ones a bonus).

Anyone else interested, or am I dreaming again?

very interested in this, your golf travel have cyprus next Feb 7 nights 5 rounds of golf for £389, not sure how much to fly, but I would say that's not a bad budget to work on.

I would be in depending on cost most of all

Feb sounds good aswell cos we can book leave easily then whereas normal holiday periods are mission impossible.

My trouble is that is all I do - daydream.

Couldn't commit to it (or even pretend I could) as I'm already booked on a trip with my old clubmates!

But I can definitely sympathise the missus turned to me over the weekend (out of the blue) and said "I'd be quite happy to go and live in Spain in 2 or 3 years time!" she speaks Spanish nearly as well as she speaks English so she was deadly serious - I've spent all week checking out golf courses in Spain that maybe, provided she doesn't go off the idea I might like to play regularly! (Just as long as she doesn't think Benidorm if she does she'll be going on her own!)

I did this a couple of years ago and got sunburnt to death on the first day
3 nights, with breakfast and unlimited golf

£99

Played 7 rounds
Flights were £100 each way and spent about £50/day on food (I don't drink)

Was about £500 altogether

The all inclusive one for £305 (4 nights) looks good if that includes drinks!!, that would also be about £500 with flights but it depends what 'all inclusive' actually means (there are 'all inclusive' holidays that aren't really EVERYTHING and you end up renting buggies and having to buy your own soft drinks, etc) as some might need buggies.... (it's roasting hot and it's a long beautiful course)

Every now and then I get a newsletter/junk mail from EnglandGolf. On the last letter was a voucher for upto £10 off your golf travel european escapes.

Might make this trip a little more cost effective if we all had one
