something is amiss with the old swing. I seem to be catching my irons thin, not worm botherer thin but not quite solid. I'm keeping my head down so it's not that and I don't know what it is but the solid contact I had has gone at the moment.

There could be several causes. Are you leaning back a touch?
 
Yep lads it could be one or both of those things I'll go see my pro and have a lesson, it probably is something simple to cure. Thanks.
 
No junior it's not that, but thanks for your help.TBH this sounds daft but sometimes I struggle to contact the grass with my practice swing...weird I know.
 
My swing today echoed the title of the thread. Felt out of synch, out of tempo and generally all over the shop. Granted I hadn't hit a ball since Tuesday but it felt nothing resembling St Pierre. Got it round in 31 points in the usual roll up and couldn't buy a putt but definitely something out of kilter
