I think with some good practice I may be able to work on 70 yards in with my PW..

You might, don't get me wrong, but I'd never try and hit 70 with a PW, that's down to very little swing indeed.
Why not try a find a method to hit your SW this distance?

I guess that would work as well.. But i tend to hit the SW as high as i do long and feel i could control the PW much more from the 70 yard.

think of a clock face,

10 on the back swing and then 2 on the follow through. ( or if your down under, its 2 on the back swing and 10 on the follow through)

Still unsure what wedge to get myself here poeple is there anything around a 57deg??? that could be used on a tightly cut fairway.

70 yards. Full on LW or a lazy SW depending on lie. I just couldn't control the standard PW to that extent. I guess it's partly due to the 'forgiving' nature of the set and it's lack of feel.
