So what's the best Christmas film ever?

Miracle on 34th Street - the 1947 version. The 1994 version with Richard Attenborough is OK but the 1947 version beats it.
A Christmas Carol - 1951 with Alistair Sim. All others pale beside it.

Every year we watch Its a wonderful life & the original Miracle on 34th Street. Cheese, crackers & a good wine whilst watching each of them... its a tradition in our house.

It's not Christmas until Hans Gruber has been thrown out of the Nakatomi Tower.

Definitely NOT It’s a Wonderful Life, that’s for sure.

I watched it a few years ago after hearing all these claims that it’s the ultimate feel good Christmas movie. I was expecting to be enraptured!

Instead I was bored senseless. The main character is just bloody annoying and I found myself wishing he’d gone ahead and topped himself early on in the film and saved me a couple of hours.

Agreed. It’s bloody awful!

People should check out a Norwegian series on Netflix called Home for Christmas about a girl whose family treat her a little differently because she’s always single and she wants to find someone to bring to her family’s Christmas meal. Not the usual Christmas style but it’s quirky, funny and at only six episodes of around 30 minutes it’s a very easy watch. Not for kids though!
