HiTec CDT Power 500 mens size 12. Apparently Padraig H had a hand in the research and development (well, a foot really).
Princely sum of 29.99 with free delivery. Will be interesting to see how long they last.

Im an 11.5-12 shoe size so went for the 12's in case they were a little narrow. It was a toss up between these and the Woodworm players shoes.

Got a cheap pair of Hi-Tec shoes myself about 5 years ago, I have 3 or 4 pairs of shoes and rotate them. But they are still going strong. They are my goto shoes when its muddy. Good luck with yours, but if mine are anything to go by. You will not go far wrong. Let use know how you get on with them?

Nice looking shoe , have worn HiTech before and found them comfy , shouldnt be any bother with them , if they get wet pop newspaper int them itl soak up the water , theyl easily see you through & into the better weather

Aye Bill, I tried the greenjoys last winter, comfy but were ruined and cracked in half a season. Then went back onto dryjoys and they cracked across the middle. Thought Id try a so called cheaper brand for a change and see what happens.
Dave, my problem is that I use one pair to destruction then buy a new expensive-ish pair. This year I am not wasting the money, though the cheap enough greenjoys wernt that great either.

FT, 61 is a bit of a bargain I have to say, styling wouldnt be to my taste though.

stuff the shoes with paper, dry them off with old towel & lube them up mate ... mayb alot of work/ care for a cheaper pair but advisable on the expensive ones ..

If I remember right, the advertising at the time said something about increasing drives by 5 yards.... an extra bonus for you!

Will watch with interest how you get on with those Hitec's Brendy, I bought some Greenjoys 3 months ago from a local shop and stupidly forgot to keep the receipt...they cracked where they bend for the toes aswell, i thought FJ were meant to be good?! although for £40 i shouldnt grumble too much. :)

Footjoy have gone downhill this past few years in my opinion, I always had them well rated against stylo, Adidas etc but there seems to be so many other makers out there now. Even the likes of Dunlop seem to be making decent golfwear again.

I tend to use black shoes in the winter as our place does get a tad muddy. Let them dry, give them a clean and a good polish and touch wood they last me pretty well. I tend to rotate a couple of pairs of dryjoys without a problem

I bought a pair of Dunlops for £18 when I took up golf 2 years ago, never had a problem with them, very comfortable. Not sure how waterproof they are, I'm a bit of a fairweather player.

I have those very shoes in black and silver. Had them for about 15 months now and still fine. I tend to use them in bad weather and they have been fine.

as Bill says vaseline is not bad, Clarkes also sell good shoe waxes. These good waxes really help keep the feet dry.
If the shoes are real leather, heat them and apply beeswax dubbing. This is the real job, make sure to do this when they are brand new.
