Today there was a Board Comp that I knew I would not win, but entered to as it would be chance to improve my handicap.

Front Nine in 39

Back Nine in 50

A couple of bad course management decisions, a poor bunker shot that went OB and a 3 put on the last cost me dear. I know I can get to 85 this year, and its in me to shot below eighty, maybe not this year, as running out of summer comps and qualifiers.

However I will focus on the good front nine and try and eliminate the mistakes, but pleased with my progress as I started to play at 55, 3 years ago

Frustration is a common word in relation to golf , ive been hitting the ball so well , putts will not fall tho , feel ive been rolling the putts well aswell ..
stood on our Par 5 18th the other day needing a par for 39 pts and a .2 cut smashed a drive long down the middle , pulled next into fairway bunker just short of green ,, no prob's I think im good outa bunkers , anywhere on or around the green and down in 2 .. took 3 to get outa bunker , ended up with a double bogey , no points , no cut ..

Very very FRUSTRATING ..

Really felt for one of the lads at our place today 1st round of club champs, 1 under gross 35 at the turn, had a dose of the shanks on the back 9 to be home in 53 and shoot 88. Ouch!

That's got to hurt. I understand where the OP is coming from though and strange how you can hit well over the first nine and then play the back nine like a totally different player. No rational reason for it. It just happens that way

Isn't that what NGT is supposed to address?
