Managed to snap my 7 iron shaft Sunday chipping out the rubbish on our 13th. Hit a tree on the follow through and snap. Play Callaway RAZR X but in uniflex. Can't seem to find a replacement shaft anywhere. Currently have a pro at our place on the job. If I can't find the exact shaft what would you do?

As far as I know my options are pretty limited if I can't find the same shaft to pretty much being fitted for another shaft and having that shaft fitted through my entire set. Uniflex is somewhere between regular and stiff if I remember rightly? After becoming a much better golfer since I first got this set, I would say a stiffer shaft would now fit the bill anyway as ball flight with the current ones is pretty high. Is this an option? Does such thing as a shaft fitting with your current irons exist? If that's what it comes to.

Don't get me wrong I hit these great and almost don't want to change them. But if I'm going to have to shell out a decent sum for a matching shaft to my set. I could almost justify changing the whole set shaft wise if it worked for me. And if such a process exists.

Thoughts? Options?

Appreciated

Maybe the shaft gurus could help confirm this but something like this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-LEFT-...000566?hash=item419cf251b6:g:4-AAAOSwKIpV~~Kr

Then swap the head and trim the butt end to the 7 iron length?

Look up Club Class Golf Repairs, I recently snapped my 7i and it was repaired there, they specialise in all manner of golf repairs. They are based at Four Ashes, Dorridge near Solihull.

You hit your current irons great and don't want to change them, but are considering doing so because of a club you might hit a full shot with 3 times per round? Madness!

You've got the answer above, but even if you didn't, just get a replacement 7i in a close matching shaft, lower end of stiff, or be patient and wait for one to come up, especially with summer now over . A handicap golfer isn't going to notice much difference, if at all.

I broke mine and went without for a couple of months waiting for the right one to come up on eBay. If the shot required flying all the way I learnt to hammer an 8 or if I could run it up then punch a 6 - both very useful shots now!
