Hi All

I am looking to purchase a new set of clubs, as my old set have seen better days!

The ones that have taken my fancy are the Snake Eyes, either the Python Plus or the Python XL. Is there much difference between the two??

Also, was thinking of getting irons in 5-SW, and want to incorporate a rescue/hybrid club and a driver - what would you recommend to make a package suitable for someone with a handicap of around 20??

Any advice, much appreciated.

Thanks

Tom

Have to say that Snake Eyes have a reputation as a better player brand so I'm not convinced they will benefit your game. Try looking at Wilson, Nicklaus, MD etc for game improvers at a cheaper price than Callaway, Taylor Made etc

I have tried Snake Eyes clubs and found the Python plus to be reasonably forgiving, though I went with my current Orkas in the end.

As far as I am aware most Snake Eyes clubs are bought throuh clubmakers and fitters and it may be worth going to one of them (they tend not to charge for the service). Most will make you up a club in your recommended spec to take out on the course a few times. They will also try you out on both of the heads you like to see the results. They will also make a set to fit so if you only want 5-PW they will do that any also make you any hybrids and wedges you need.

if you go down this route, also give the Orka kii a go, you will not be disappointed.

I have just purchased a set of custom Snake Eyes 'Python Plus' from Strike Right Golf.

They are an excellent club, so forgiving on hits off the heal or toe. Loads of projection and easy to get the ball airborne.

Mine are 'pured' and fitted with correct shaft, grip size etc for me. I have a 5 through to SW.

I'd ignore the comment above about 'getting a decent brand' as IMO it's shortsighted and unjustified. I was going to get an £800 set of TaylorMades, in the end I went for a set of Snake Eyes.

Check out the golf mags, 9 times out of 10 Snake Eyes get glowing reviews.

It's how you play not what you play.

HTH.

Nice to see someone else has been to Strike Right. How did you find your session with John. I found it enlightening and worth every penny, the guy is a perfectionist. He built my Orka Kit

Hi GB72,

John at Strike Right is a legend. I put my total faith in his knowledge. IMO, many folks would walk out of there with a set a clubs better suited to them, than purchasing more mainstream brands with the limited fitting options they provide.

In this day and age it's difficult to find companies that put so much effort into customer service. John has passion and time for his customers in abundance.

Cheers, Tim

Have to agree, in this age of quick half hour 'custom fittings' he spent nearly 2 hours sorting me out with a driver then another half an hour when I picked it up checking that he had done a good job.
