Travelling along Loch Ken this morning at the end of a long straight I noticed a deer on the left verge.
I had time to brake and it strolled across the road .
Two seconds later a fast car raced around the bend, driver totally unaware of how near he had been to a disaster.

On the way back, at a nearby village a French tourist decided to drive for about 300 yards on the wrong side of the road.
Fortunately, it was quiet before he recalled which country he was driving in.

I was once driving to Ardrossan, and on a straight section of road suddenly thought "I'm catching that car in front quite quick" Then realised it was coming towards me. Had to swerve out the way at the last minute. In the rearview mirror I could see the other driver continue merrily up the wrong side of the road.

A mate's wife wasn't so lucky - a German tourist came round a bend on the wrong side of the road - just north ot Fort William. She never made it. (The other driver admitted he'd forgotten which side of the road to drive on).
