Hello forumers,

Just a quick question, i used to be able to hit about 300yrds off the tee and keep the ball pretty stright then all of a sudden bam i now slice every driver shot weather i am swinging fast or slow. i have tried the usally stuff like making sure the face is closed and im not coming in from the outside with my swing also keeping my sholders square till after impact i have litterly looked at every video and still when ever i hit the ball off the tee it heads off stright for about 100 yards then pretty much turns at a right angle and heads way out of bounds. so basicly just wondering if i have missed somthing or if anyone else has experienced this.

i am prone to a bit of slicing. about 30% of the time i hit it fairly straight. i rarely slice it onto the next fairway, but i often slice it enough where it lands right side of the fairway and rolls agonisingly into the first or second cut of rough, or rolls into the jungle.

i tried lining up slightly further away from the ball, and it worked on occasions, but every time i do it, my body tells me something's gonna break (my back), and i revert back to my more accomodating posture in the vain hope i'll hit it straighter. i think it's just a matter of applying all those anti-slice rules and practising them like hell until your body becomes immune to the ripping of the spinal cord :D

Try loosening your grip and consiously try and make sure you keep it loose during teh downswing - sometimes it is tension that keeps the clubface just slightly open, and looseing the grip can help your release of your wrists

Hmm, I'm doing this too and all my strikes come out of the heel of the driver - are you (like me) over reaching in the down swing? Get some impact tape on the club face down the range and check.

thanks for the advice guys, went to the range to day and worked on a few things managed to change the slice to a nice fade that ends where i want it to but sadly only around 230yrd no more long drives for me. i changed three things my grip is now a bit stronger i try to turn the club over more and i have focused on not collapsing my knees in the back swing.

300yds needs speed and good upper and lower body co-ordination , get some video lessons as you obviously have the speed but somewhere your co-ordination is leaking power.

i am definatly gonna get some lessons i have asked a couple of local pros and will arrange somthing soon just have a little annual family game coming up so i wanna get it as sorted as i can for then
