Right lads and lasses. Every year 10 of us go on a golf weekend in September. This year is our 25th year and we are going to Slaley Hall. Two rounds on the Hunting Course and one on the Priestman. Staying at the hotel as well. Anybody been there? What are the courses like? Hotel/food/rooms?

Have played both courses, but a few years ago. From memory I really enjoyed both of them, can be a bit exposed, up on the hill. There are some lengthy walks, green to tee. The first time I played there foot and mouth precautions were in place !!!! Didn't use the hotel so no help there.

Hope you enjoy your day,

I have played both courses but can't comment on hotel stay bar telling you it is pricey for food and drink. As for the golf both are nice courses if very resort syle....big tees, big bunkers, big greens etc, still worth a visit though...it is mind you in the middle of nowhere so you are kinda stuck to the Hotel for nightlife or a fair taxi ride to Hexham.

Played the hunting course recently and after all the bad weather over the winter it was in excellent condition if a little wet but to be expected with parkland courses at this time of year. Greens were excellent and the layout of the curse was very very good.

Cant speak for the clubhouse/hotel.

If you are going in September it will be exceptional IMO.

I play both courses on a regular basis and they both provide a good test. Both in good condition for the time of year. As for the hotel its expensive but really nice. Tidy birds too ;-) service with a smile!!
