the quality of Google earth imaging varies a lot as does the age of the images. despite the 2008 date in the corner most images most definitely are not. so don't expect to see any 'recent' course changes and in my case 'recent' is probably four years!

The french military recon teams photograph the whole world every four days and I suspect that is where the images for google earth come from along with the ordinance survey maps. I may be wrong!

The images on Google Earth of Aylesbury are at least 3 years old probably 4 - I can see building sites where houses are now and outside my house is a Ford Focus that I had 3-4 years ago.

I know some courses around here that have made significant changes since then - mine included so Google Earth may not be as reliable as you think.

I know the images on google earth are not updated very often. There is a tree in my front garden that was chopped down 5 years ago.

But it is free software so we can't expect much. There are plenty of reasons why google earth cannot publish the up to date images and its probably mostly to do with money.

And if you look at a map of Bexhill on Sea, you can see through my bedroom window where me and the Missus are clearly enjoying rumpy pumpy.
It has been a good 3 or 4 years since that happened

Way too much info Smiffy.

My house has a classic rover P5B coupe outside it. I haven't owned that for 7 years minimum.

My course has changed alot since then, as all the bunkers were redone, some new, some moved, some reshaped. We also have 4 new tees.
