Hi Clive,
I presume your question was aimed at me. I play on the east coast if ireland, typically I wear a base/shirt/jumper.
I have been told I am a cold so and so.
It is great playing on a nice brisk winters morning with a nice gentle breeze.
My response wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, but the posters in general. Perhaps I am more hardy than others, but I've never needed any thermals or "Base" layers even when out in extreme weather. This all seems to be a marketing ploy to me. The winters are getting milder and we are all starting to wear thermal underwear which we never had or needed.
It is strange how on the golf course the youngsters are all kitted out in thermal clothing, but if you visit any major city at night in the winter, they are wearing the skimpiest clothing that would be more suited to a summer's day in Spain.
