Hi, new to the forum as a poster but been a subscriber and viewer of the forum for several years.
Looking to join a local golf club and wondered if anyone has played any of the courses as a visitor or been a member of any of them.
Yours thoughts on the courses and or being a member.
Cheers Paul.

There definitely used to be a bearsted member on here. Im sure someone who has experience of these three will be along soon.

Do you live somewhere on the A249 corridor north of Maidstone?

I've heard faversham is decent too although not played it personally.

I'm a member at Sittingbourne. It's a very friendly club, easy to get a game or join a swindle. The course we think is a good track, and a good challenge.

Yes i live in sittingbourne. Will hv a look at faversham but im never that way for much else.
have played sittingbourne once in august but not the other two. Says u need a h/c cert to play bearsted.

I'm an Ashford member. I've played Sittingbourne, Faversham and Bearsted and they are all good, friendly, private clubs. Like any they all need to be played a few times to get used to the layout but are decent tracks and I don't think you'd be disappointed whichever you choose

I'm a member at Wrotham heath and happy felt happy since being a member for the last 15months so was looking around at new places and since you mentioned the above clubs iv found a big interest in bearsted gc and after phone call back today from the former captain iv got a courtesy round booked up with him a week Saturday.

Have you got any further with finding a club ?

Golfdub, its probably between Sittingbourne and Bearsted. I hv played the former in Aug.
I received an email from Bearsted today from the membership secretary with joining fee and annual subs, offering to play nine holes.
i like the fact it has some water, but cant really tell if it comes in play.

Of what I understand it does come into play on more than one hole, on their website it does show you which ones.
My choice did also come down to the same two but for some little reason in my head bearsted is just slightly ahead.

What were yours thoughts on sittingbourne? Have u played it? Only two holes im not a fan of the dogleg 9th and the shortest par 3 a few holes later.
Do u think bearsted will suit your game better?

As a member elsewhere, all I can say is, if I were offered a round at Sittingbourne or Bearsted I'd prefer the Bearsted choice. I like the course but there is a lot of blind shots that take a while to get used to the line to take but Sittingbourne is a blander course to me. The welcome we had at Bearsted in both the Pro shop and clubhouse was as good as anywhere I've played
